Kasese District - Western Uganda

KARUDEC is a comprehensive health care and educational project in the South-Eastern foothills of the Rwenzori mountains near the Kagando Trading Centre, and the villages of  Kisinga and Nyanbirongo. Kagando Hospital with the School of Nursing and Midwifery is the largest part of the project.  It also manages a primary school, a farm, a hostel for mothers around the time of birth,  a microfinance project and several other community-based initiatives.

KARUDEC is overseen by a Board of Governors appointed by the Church of Uganda and managed by a team of Executive Officers appointed by the board.  The Church of Uganda (Anglican) is the accountable body with responsibility for the project and ownership of its land and buildings.
